Flexible Furlough Update

The government have recently provided further information to support those employers that are looking to utilise the flexible furlough scheme that becomes available from 01st July 2020.

The government have confirmed that if you flexibly furlough employees, you’ll need to agree this with the employee (or reach collective agreement with a trade union) and keep a new written agreement that confirms the new furlough arrangement. You’ll need to:

  1. make sure that the agreement is consistent with employment, equality and discrimination laws;

  2. keep a written record of the agreement for 5 years;

  3. keep records of how many hours your employees work and the number of hours they are furloughed (i.e. not working).

You do not need to place all your employees on furlough and you can continue to fully furlough employees if you wish.

NucleusHR have been delighted to assist businesses throughout this crisis and will continue to do so.  If you require a flexible furlough letter, please do not hesitate to contact us on 07960 418494 or email us toni@nucleushr.com.
